Durant's Flowers Policy
Substitutions Policy
Flowers are seasonal by nature, and substitutions sometimes need to happen to keep an order fresh, timely, and visually balanced.
Our substitution policy explains how we protect the look, value, and intent of your arrangement when exact stems or containers are unavailable.

Why substitutions happen
Fresh flowers depend on seasonality, daily quality, and supplier availability. When a specific stem, colour, or container is unavailable or unsuitable, a substitution may be necessary to keep the arrangement fresh, timely, and visually balanced.
The goal of any substitution is to protect the overall look, value, size impression, and emotional tone of the order.
What we try to preserve
We aim to preserve style before exact duplication. That means colour family, shape, level of formality, and overall fullness usually matter more than matching one flower variety stem for stem.
If the arrangement includes a signature focal flower or a strongly requested palette, we do our best to honour that intent while still working with quality and seasonality.
Holiday and rush periods
Substitutions can become more common around major floral dates and high-demand weeks because inventory moves faster and quality control remains important.
In those periods, flexibility on exact stems often leads to a stronger overall design.
When questions matter
If the exact flower type, colour, or vessel is especially important to the order, it is always best to contact us before finalizing the request so we can talk through the most realistic options.
That conversation is especially useful for weddings, sympathy tributes, and custom orders where visual specifics matter more.
